Maybe I’ll stick to DivaBat instead

So I’m participating in the May 1 Reboot and its companion, the CSS Reboot, for DivaBat. By May 1st you should see a new version of that blog.

Friendster Blog’s way too slow for me, argh. I quite like the lists thing they had - Lainie had her Amazon wishlist and what looks like a Flickr badge of her wishlist on her Friendster blog. Nifty.

I’ll be trying out WordPress this time round. Let’s see how it works, ya.

Let’s see if this works

Hokai. So.

Friendster has finally opened up blogging to non-US members. I thought it was a really rad idea; my LJ was friends-only, and the one at Blessed*Be is eating up space, so I figured I’d use this blog for my WorldSmart ventures and whatever else I’d get my hands on.

Problem is, Friendster Blogs loads VERY SLOWLY. Even on broadband. Sometimes it crashes and doesn’t load at all. Not fun.

So how? I may take down DivaBat right now and start anew with a fresh blog. If someone would sponsor divabat.com or divabat.net, so much the better (aherm aherm). Sigh, I’ll have to see what’s next I suppose.

Suggestions:

1) Allow us to ping other posts. Currently it accepts Trackbacks, but we can’t send them ourselves.

2) Better URL management. It really should just be username.friendster.com/blog or blogs.friendster.com/username, not the convoluted system that’s in place now.

3) A function to check if our friends have updated their blogs recently. Or heck, a list of friends that HAVE blogs.

4) A way to make Friends-Only posts, like on LJ. That way, some posts can only be seen by those on my Friendster Friends List, if they log in to Friendster.

let’s see how this works, eh?
